Music plays an important part within the Classical Christian Education at Legacy. Students attend music classes two days a week in elementary and up to five days a week for choral music students. The Choral music department is under the direction of Sandra Clark. The music department is a member of the Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association (TPSMEA), TMEA(Texas Music Educators Association), ACSI and TAPPS. Legacy has had students selected to the TPSMEA All Region Choir, Middle School Honor Choir and All State Choir. The choral music department participates in Solo and Ensemble competition for both middle school and high school students. Legacy's high school choir has received Division I ratings in the Concert/Sight Reading Festival held by TPSMEA and in the Bluebonnet Festival in San Antonio. LCA's high school choir traveled to Carnegie Hall in New York City and participated in the ACSI's Youth Chorale Concert in March 2004 and again in April 2006 at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association All State Choir, Band and Orchestra Concert was held on January 26-29 in San Antonio. Four students from Legacy Christian Academy were selected to the choir from over 400 students who auditioned. Renee Meyer-soprano, Sara Journey-alto, Trey McFarlin and David Hinckley-tenors performed the Faure Requiem under the direction of John Dickson who is the Choral Director at Texas Tech University.
