Choral Music

Students at Legacy Christian Academy develop music literacy through a sequential, child-developmental approach. Students are encouraged to explore and discover the joy of music as they attend classes twice a week. Our elementary music specialists are trained in the Kodaly and Orff methods of music education.

Choral music studies begin in the 6th grade at Legacy Christian Academy. The choral programs include a 6th grade beginning choir, Middle School Chorus, High School Chorus and a select High School Girl’s Ensemble. The Choral music department is under the direction of Sandra Clark. The music department is a member of the Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association (TPSMEA), TMEA(Texas Music Educators Association), ACSI and TAPPS. Legacy has had students selected to the TPSMEA All Region Choir, Middle School Honor Choir and All State Choir. The choral music department participates in Solo and Ensemble competition for both middle school and high school students. Legacy's high school choir has received Division I ratings in the Concert/Sight Reading Festival held by TPSMEA and in the Bluebonnet Festival in San Antonio. Legacy Christian Academy high school choir has traveled to Carnegie Hall in New York City on three different occasions participating in the ACSI's Youth Chorale Concerts.
