LCA Preschool FAQs
Why choose LCA Eagle Preschool?
The teachers at LCA are Christians whose goal is to provide loving care and Christ-centered instruction at school. They are role models of Christian character who will point your child to Christ each day. Teaching children at Legacy Eagle Preschool is a ministry that is covered in prayer by each staff member. Your child will enjoy the many specials that Legacy has to offer: music, Spanish, preschool PE, library and preschool Chapel. Your preschool child will enjoy the opportunity to learn through the use of iPads in the preschool classrooms. At Legacy, the preschool children participate in many special events throughout the year such as Arctic Blast, Grandparents Day, LCA Homecoming Week, PJ’s and Pancakes, Creature Teacher, Field Day, Teddy Bear Picnic, and a Gingerbread Man Hunt…just to name a few!
What does my child wear to preschool?
All children need to be dressed according to the LCA Uniform Guidelines. Please notice that your child’s uniform is different on his or her Chapel Day. Girls must wear “modesty shorts” under the Chapel dress uniform. Boys may wear white polo style shirts or white button down dress shirts with khaki pants. Shorts may not be worn on Chapel Day. Boys and girls are not required to wear a belt and may wear elastic waist pants. All preschool children are encouraged to wear slip-on or Velcro-fastened shoes until they can tie their shoes without assistance. Light up and “Twinkle Toes” shoes are not permitted. The first few months of preschool are a sensitive time when preschoolers are adjusting to their surroundings. It is helpful to your child if he or she is dressed in clothing that is easy for him or her to move around in.
What does my child need to bring each day?
- Your child should bring a backpack that is large enough to carry a lunchbox, folder, change of clothes and a water bottle. Please do not send a “toddler size” backpack. Rolling backpacks are not permitted at Legacy.
- Each child must bring a lunch, drink, and healthy snack each day. Also, please provide all necessary utensils for your child’s food. The preschool classes eat in the classrooms.
- Please send a “squirt top style” water bottle. Please fill this with water instead of juice.
- Please remember to label all items brought to school.

All preschoolers rest for at least 30 minutes each day. Students are not required to sleep, but are expected to rest quietly so that others may sleep if desired. We provide rest mats that we label. Nap mats are sterilized daily.

What is your attendance policy?
The preschool years are a crucial time in getting your child ready to start Kindergarten and have a smooth transition to Lower School. It is highly recommended that your child attend class as often as possible. Many preschool skills are taught each day and therefore daily attendance is in the best interest of your child; however, there is no minimum number of school days required for graduation from our preschool program.
Morning circle time begins at 8:20. We respectfully request that your child be on time each day. Late arrivals disrupt the morning routine. We understand that circumstances arise which may cause you to be late. If you arrive after 8:15, please enter through the front doors by the main office.
