Legacy's Color Guard has earned many accolades during their second year of existence, most recently taking second place at their competition on Saturday March 4th.

Each year, the team selects a theme for their dances and competitions. This year's theme, “If We're Honest,” is based on a song by Christian musicians, Francesca Battistelli and Heather Ramsey. The team competes in the Regional A Division through the NTCA (North Texas Color Guard Association) Circuit along with 45 other teams. Hundreds of high schools compete within NTCA's 5 divisions, and LCA is one of the few private schools represented! At each show, the girls are adjudicated by 5 NTCA/ WGI trained judges in the areas of: Equipment, Movement, Design Analysis, General Effect 1, General Effect 2.

This year we chose our theme so it would stand out from the rest of the other color guard teams. We are the only school to compete that we know of that has the word Christian in our schools name. Following our success from last season and promotion to regional A, we wanted to make a statement with this year's show .

Color Guard is an extremely competitive sport, and our team rehearses 3 days each week including Saturdays. The girls' dedication shines forth in each performance and the awards they continue to accumulate. In the past few months, Legacy Color Guard has consistently finished competitions with 2nd or 4th place, with scores of 61-75 points.

The girls have several upcoming competitions include one this weekend @ Lewisville HS on Saturday March 18th, where Legacy performs at 2:57pm, and the championship @ Marcus HS on Saturday March 24th. Be there or be square.
