This summer, Legacy Alumnus Josh Norris spent a month in Africa spreading the Gospel to a severely unreached and impoverished population.

Traveling with Hendrix College where he plays football, Josh helped grow and build a church in George, South Africa. During his visit, he was mentored by missionaries living in Africa and had the opportunity to witness to several people.

He most enjoyed his time with some boys who were involved in the youth, with whom he still keeps in touch today, encouraging them and praying for them from the other side of the world.

Reflecting on the trip, Josh shared that the most impactful part was realizing that he had grown up with “the opportunity to have the gospel presented to me 800 times in a very clear way while most of the people [there] had never heard it clearly.”

Josh is currently back at Hendrix College studying Computer Science and ready for whatever God has in store for him. He acknowledges an increased appreciation for mission work and spreading the Gospel. He looks forward to his next mission opportunity. When asked about his plans for the future, he said that he has a “strong desire to pursue vocational and occupational ministry.”
