The board of Legacy Christian Academy is excited to announce that Mr. Bill McGee has been appointed as the next headmaster. Mr. McGee is the third headmaster in the school's seventeen-year history and joins the school at a time of great prosperity and growth for the school. Mr. McGee's appointment comes after a six-month search by the school board with the assistance of a national search firm, CarterBaldwin. Legacy Christian Academy had great interest in the headmaster position due to the success and health of the school. Over one hundred individuals applied for the position with the search committee vetting seven finalists. Mr. McGee's selection was due to his strong Christian faith, strength as a leader, and successful history of leading top independent and Christian schools throughout the southeast United States.
Robert Copple, Legacy Christian Academy school board chairman, commented on the appointment, “Legacy is a shining light to enable Frisco area residents who desire a strong Christian-based education. Dr. Chris Harmon has been a phenomenal headmaster and has significantly advanced the academic excellence and created a firm foundation for the future of Legacy. Bill McGee has the wisdom and experience necessary to enable Legacy to expand on this solid Christian foundation. We are very excited to have a new strong Christian leader of Bill's caliber.”
Mr. McGee and his wife Janna will be joining us from Hill Country Christian School of Austin, Texas. He has 34 years of experience as a classroom teacher, coach, and administrator, including 24 years as head of four independent schools in Texas, Mississippi, and Tennessee and ten years as a teacher, coach, and principal in the Texas public school system.
“Janna and I are honored to accept the call to serve Legacy Christian Academy. We are excited about the opportunity to serve a school that is recognized as one of the best Christian schools, not only in North Texas, but in the nation. Over the last few weeks, it became clear that God was leading us to become a part of this special community. We were impressed that everyone connected with LCA expressed an unbridled passion for its mission and an irrepressible confidence in its future. It is a privilege to join this community of believers who aspire to build a school of excellence that reflects the image of our most excellent Creator. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you over the next few weeks and months.”
