“I am pleased to announce that Kristin Gordon is joining Legacy Christian Academy’s Student Services Division as Guidance Counselor for the Lower School,” stated Jena Snyder, Director of Guidance Counseling. “Mrs. Gordon is uniquely and exceptionally qualified for this position given her vast and diverse experience and accomplishments in education.” Lower School Principal Tiffany McCullum says, “I am thrilled to have Kristin Gordon join our Legacy family! She will be a wonderful asset to our team who will serve our students, parents, and faculty. Mrs. Gordon is an advocate for students' social and emotional wellbeing. She has a bubbly personality, a contagious smiIe, and is the perfect fit for our culture in Lower School! Her love for the Lord and children shines bright!”
Mrs. Gordon graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Leadership. In addition, she completed Inspire Texas’ Counseling Certification Program and is a Texas Certified School Counselor. Kristin has most recently been serving as a 3rd/4th grade Teacher at Trivium Academy while supporting her campus with a wide variety of counseling tasks. There, she gained experience writing lower school social/emotional curriculum and offering individual planning and crisis counseling for students. Mrs. Gordon’s previous experience with McKinney and Plano ISD includes implementing social/emotional guidance lessons with home extensions for parents and writing and winning three district grants, all while building strong relationships with staff and families.
Kristin and her husband John will celebrate their ten -year wedding anniversary this July. They have two children, Taylor (almost 7) and Cole (3.5). They attend Hope Fellowship and have enjoyed serving in roles in the areas of greeting, hospitality, and children’s ministry.
Kristin says, “I cannot wait to join the Legacy Christian Academy community and serve as your Lower School Counselor. Every moment I’ve spent at LCA with your counselors and leaders, I've been blown away by the shared mission and how passionately it is pursued. It is very clear that your LCA staff members are overflowing with faith, love, dedication, and innovation. I look forward to jumping in, building relationships with everyone in the LCA community, and faithfully serving our students, families, and staff.”
