Legacy Athletics is excited to announce that Rachel Cating will be coaching the Varsity Girl's Soccer Team in 2016. Mrs. Cating is finishing her first year at Legacy teaching math in the Upper School.

Mrs. Cating began playing soccer recreationally at age 4 and continued to play competitive club soccer for seven years. Throughout high school, she played for Caddo Magnet High School, where she served as team captain, and in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League. She also participated in the Olympic Development Program in Louisiana.

When asked about her excitement to join the LCA coaching staff, Mrs. Cating shares, “My very favorite memories from my many years of soccer are from my high school team. I look forward to being the coach who starts a tradition of excellence in girl's soccer at LCA. I am excited and thankful to share my love for the game with the girls and teach them valuable lessons on and off the field.”

“During Coach Cating's time at LCA she has demonstrated incredible care and compassion for her students,” notes Legacy Athletic Director, Greg Gober. “Her positive attitude was a primary factor in my determination that she was the right person to lead our Girl's Soccer program. Coach Cating will be a consistent leader who I believe will bring success to the LCA Girl's Soccer program both on and off the field.”

Tryout dates and more information regarding Legacy's inaugural soccer season are forthcoming.
