The Varsity Softball team placed 3rd in the Fort Worth Bethesda Tournament this weekend. The girls went 2-2 in bracket play on Saturday, losing in the semi-final game. However, they finished the day on an incredible note. As time ran out, they tied the score. The game went into the International Tie Breaker rules. After a hard fight, the girls lost 8-9. Senior Gabi Langille said, “We played the best I've seen our team play all year. It was a very physical game, and even though we lost, I'm very proud of my teammates.”

The tournament was great practice for the girls as they prepare for playoffs in their final district games. The girls stepped up to the challenge, especially filling in for their starting short stop who was out for an injury.

Head Coach, Doug Branch said, “The team grew tremendously and built stamina. We got the chance to see some of the younger players develop and some of the more experienced players shine.” The Varsity Softball team is currently ranked second in district, right behind Dallas Christian School. Every win counts as they work to secure first place in district.

The girls had a blast spending the whole weekend together, even though it was a long couple of days. Come out and see Varsity play in their next home district game against Trinity Cedar Hill on Tuesday, April 11.
