Boys Golf Team Makes Noise
Comprised of largely by underclassmen, for the boys, this year it was all about gaining knowledge and experience and learning what it takes to compete at the next level of high school championship golf. Advancing for State proves they did just that. And, not only did they qualify, but the boys finished 7th overall in the 5A State Championship in Killeen, Texas! Their breakthrough victory, which catapulted their confidence, came when they finished 1st at The Lakes during season tournament play. Earning the TJ Tomeny Fighting Heart Award was senior and team leader, Nick Dolanski. Low men all year long were Austin Martinez and Jace Edgmon, who were named co-MVP's for 2017.
The past four years on the Legacy Golf team will forever be some of my favorite memories. I can confidently say through being a part of this team for so many years, that Legacy Golf will be able to continue making history each year to come.”

Girls Golf Places at State for 4th Consecutive Year
On the girls side of the team, Grace Pettijohn and McKenzie Cady upheld the Legacy legacy! Both competed for top honors throughout the season, including their 3rd and 5th consecutive State Championships. Grace finished 4th and McKenzie 9th in the state of Texas at TAPPS 5A. McKenzie has been on each of the State Championship Golf teams, and she has been in the top 10 players at State each year! Pretty tough act to follow, but if there is anyone that can beat that–it would be Grace!
Usually playing as a competitive individual, playing on the golf team was completely foreign to me. Little did I know that I would be pushed and stretched as a person and a player. Taking an individual sport and turning it into a team effort has shown me a new side to this game that I love. Whether we were striving through pressure situations, continually encouraging ourselves and each other, or fighting through terrible weather and tough competitions; we always did it together.”
