The Varsity Basketball Team had an outstanding season, full of growth and triumphs. They wrapped up their season at the end of February, after making it to the 3rd round of playoffs against the Fort Worth All Saints.

Head coach and Athletic Director, Cole Johnson, spoke highly of his team stating, “Throughout the season the guys grew both as players and as a team.” While it is expected for a team to grow together and nurture their relationships, this year the guys took it a step further by bleaching their hair in camaraderie to mark their progress to the playoff round.

The team culminated the 2017-2018 season by hosting a first-round playoff game. During that game, Ben Johnson noted a critical moment during the game when they were able to get a “defensive stop in the final seconds of the game to seal the win.” Ben's brother, senior Jack Johnson, worked tirelessly throughout the season, developing his leadership style and intensifying his game.

Coach Johnson raved about how “the guys so greatly desire the Legacy community and the basketball program to be closely knit together. This year the team faced more opponents with a larger enrollment than ever before.” The energy from the fans was terrific and motivated the guys to put forth their best effort for every game. The team finished out the season with a win which helped them end on a high note. Although this season has come to a close and Coach Johnson is always looking for ways to grow the basketball program, he is not quite ready to let this dynamic group of seniors go.
