At Legacy Christian Academy, we proudly celebrate a cherished annual tradition known as GrandEagles and Special Friends' Day. This special day has been designed to honor and strengthen the bond between students and their beloved grandparents or special friends by offering a unique opportunity to step into their grandchildren's world and spending the morning with them in their classrooms.
We understand that not every child may have a grandparent available to attend this special day. To ensure every student feels included and valued, we have implemented an Honorary Grandparent Program. If a grandparent is unavailable, we invite parents to reach out to our ELC or Lower School team. We will pair your child with an LCA staff member who will act as an honorary grandparent for the day, ensuring every child has someone special to share this meaningful experience with. This was so special last year for the students who participated!
Yes, if you check your grandchild out with his/her teacher at the conclusion of the event, they may shuttle back to the Gateway parking lot with you.
Yes! Please indicate that you have accessibility needs and/or utilize a wheelchair when registering for the event. We will add you to the special event parking list and allow you to park in the Early Learning Campus lot. If you are attending at the Lower School on Friday, we encourage you to use the FREE valet service on the west side of the South Campus or park in a handicapped parking spot.
No! We don’t want your grandchild to miss out on the fun! Please have the child’s mom or dad contact Stefanie Graham, stefanie.graham@legacyca.com at the Early Learning Campus or Bethany McMillon, bethany.mcmillon@legacyca.com at the Lower School to enroll them in the Honorary Grandparent Program. We will match your grandchild with one of our LCA staff members to accompany them on his/her adventure for the day.
Dismissal plans will be confirmed in advance with parents. If grandparents are taking a grandchild home after the event, please be sure to check out with the child’s teacher before leaving campus.
Though we are always thrilled to have parent participation at our events, this one is just for the grandparents, special friends, and honorary grandparents! Parents, you are welcome to volunteer and serve at this event by contacting Shannon Culley at shannon.culley@legacyca.com.
Students should remain in their classrooms during their siblings’ programs, as space is limited in the program areas. You may return to the classroom to pick them up once the second program concludes.
