Community Engagement at LCA

Honoring the diverse tapestry God has created in His body of believers and fostering a sense of belonging within the LCA community.

Creating Community & Nourishing a Brighter Future

The Office of Community Engagement plays a crucial role in honoring the diverse tapestry God has created in His body of believers and fostering a sense of belonging within the LCA community. At LCA, we believe that all people are made in the image of God, reflect His glory, and have profound value. This is exemplified through our Kingdom Unity program, which reaches all areas of the school and is guided by the tenets of Ephesians 4:1-6.

“I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” - Ephesians 4:1-6

IDENTITY IS AT THE CORE OF WHO WE ARE

Identity is at the core of who we are, with our primary and paramount identity in Christ. This shared identity binds us together as an LCA community, and our primary objective is to establish a school of belonging for all community members based on this foundational identity. Our dedicated focus is cultivating unity by creating an atmosphere where every member feels valued and deeply respected.

  •

areas of focus

LCA interprets diversity through the lens of God's creation. This encompasses various aspects such as:

  • Ability: Physical Disabilities and Neurodiversity
  • Ethnicity: Race and Culture
  • Socio-economic Diversity

ROOTED IN THE GOSPEL

LCA is firmly anchored in the Gospel, and as such, our Kingdom Unity program is derived from the Bible with a particular focus on Genesis 1:26-27, John 17:20-23, Ephesians 4:1-6, and Revelation 7:9.

  • As we instill in students a profound understanding of the intricate nature of God, we are steadfast in acknowledging His omnipresence manifested throughout the entirety of creation. In light of this recognition, we underscore the significance of nurturing a diverse community that genuinely mirrors the diverse facets of His identity.
    • Throughout the Bible, God consistently urges his people to unite in Him. As Dr. Tony Evans says, “unity is not uniformity; unity is oneness in purpose.” The ultimate objective of this unity is to serve as a compelling witness, reflecting the essence of God and His character.
    • When we fulfill God’s purpose for us on earth and reach heaven, we will find ourselves surrounded by the diversity He meticulously crafted, as illustrated in Revelation 7:9. The groundwork for that future unfolds in the present moment.
