At Legacy Christian Academy, we believe that the arts are an essential part of our students’ education.
Our Fine Arts Department provides a creative and nurturing environment that allows our students to explore their artistic talents, develop their creativity, and express themselves through various mediums. We are proud of our students’ accomplishments and look forward to their continued success in the arts.
Fine arts is thoughtfully integrated into every grade, ensuring that every student experiences the joy and enrichment of creativity. From the earliest years, students engage in worship during weekly divisional chapel, fostering a deeper connection to their faith. Students have the opportunity to audition for LCA’s Praise and Worship team, where they can blend their musical talents with their faith to inspire others while taking a leadership role in community worship. Art education begins in early grades and evolves as students progress, with formal art classes starting in 1st grade and continuing through graduation for those who choose to pursue it. Additionally, students explore music and theater opportunities, ranging from Music & Movement classes in preschool to choir, band, and theater introductions in middle school. These experiences nurture their talents and inspire a lifelong appreciation for the arts
Visual Arts:
Our carefully crafted visual arts curriculum is thoughtfully designed to nurture and inspire young minds, providing a well-rounded education that seamlessly blends technical proficiency, rich art history, and imaginative problem-solving through courses that include Studio Art, Digital Art, and Photography, students are able to develop their God-given talents through various learning experiences. As students move through the program, they have the opportunity to advance their skills from foundational courses and culminate their learning with Advanced Placement Studio Art.
Band:
Legacy’s band program empowers students to achieve their fullest musical potential through a thoughtfully designed curriculum. Beginning in 5th grade, students explore instruments guided by experienced instructors. Middle and high school musicians refine skills individually and as a team, performing in various ensembles like marching band, concert band, and Jazz ensemble. Participating in contests and festivals through ATSSB and TPSMEA, students gain exposure and excel. Remarkably, many secure spots in all-region and all-state honor bands, showcasing dedication and excellence. This program encourages students to shine as they share their musical talents with the world.
Choir:
LCA’s choral program nurtures student talent and passion, delving deep into choral singing by integrating music theory, history, and sight-reading skills. These cornerstones enhance performances and establish a foundation for lifelong musical excellence. Through concerts, festivals, and competitions, students showcase vocal prowess, fostering confidence and teamwork.
Theater:
The vibrant theater program at LCA promotes creativity, self-expression, and teamwork among our students. In addition to providing a platform for these invaluable qualities to flourish, our program imparts essential acting and stagecraft techniques, laying the groundwork for their theatrical development. From one-act plays to awe-inspiring full-length productions and the thrill of improvisational theater, our students have numerous opportunities to demonstrate the skills they’ve acquired. As students actively engage in theater events, they earn points toward induction into the International Thespian Society.
