John is the daily voice of BreakPoint, the nationally syndicated commentary on the culture founded by the late Chuck Colson. He is also the voice of the Point, a daily one-minute feature on worldview, apologetics and cultural issues.

Legend of Legacy Award Recipient
Jody Capehart is a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her heart is for children to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and to love learning. Professionally, Jody is an educator, author, and speaker with fifty years of experience. Her education and administrative experience include teaching, founding seven schools in the metroplex, serving as minister to children, teaching courses for Dallas Baptist University, and being director of the Hope Biblical Counseling training program. Jody is currently writing books about education, grandparenting, and gardening.
For over twenty-five years, Jody spoke for MOPS, PTA, Women’s Ministries, ACSI, schools, churches, and conferences nationally and internationally. She is the author or co-author of seventeen books including Cherishing and Challenging Your Children, Becoming a Treasured Teacher, Teaching with Heart, Christian Charm Course, Touching Hearts and Changing Lives, The Discipline Guide, and Discipline by Design.
Jody is married to Paul who retired after playing the French horn for forty-four years with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. Paul and Jody are members of Stonebriar Community Church. Her interests include spending time with her family, reading, gardening, swimming, cooking, and writing.
Legacy Heart of Service Award Recipient
Tracy and the Todd family are long-time Frisco residents. As one of the first families enrolled at LCA at its inception in 1999, they also have a long history of support for the school.
Tracy has served at LCA in multiple roles, everything from room mom, volunteer coordinator to Parent Teacher Fellowship President. She is also the founder of what is now called the Care Ministry, coordinating 1190 meals for the Legacy community.
Tracy is a proud mom to Parker (LCA ‘12), Marshall (LCA ‘16), Iverson (‘18), and Jackson (‘20). She and her husband Mitchell reside in Frisco.
Liddy and her husband Matt currently live in Frisco and have a daughter in Pre-K at LCA as well as a 9-month-old son. The Lord drew them to LCA this past year and they can't wait to watch their daughter grow at Legacy over the years. Liddy graduated from Texas A&M University and has a background in broadcast. She worked as a host for Fox Sports for years and has also been a host for E! News, Project Runway, and Disney to name a few. When Liddy moved back to Texas, she met her now-husband, Matt, and got into real estate. She is currently a real estate Broker and owns a small team with two partners.
Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida, Edie comes from a musical family. Her father was their church song leader, her mother the pianist and Edie made her solo debut singing in church at age 6.
The Shadle Family moved to Frisco in 2011 and God led them to LCA. Edie says, “We walked Andrew to his class that first day to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Collins, and the first thing she said to him was “Hi Andrew, we’ve been praying for you!“ We knew we were right where God wanted us to be! Our new LCA friends have become Frisco family!”
Edie and Scott are parents to Abby (LCA ‘16), son-in-law Ben and Andrew (LCA ‘20). Edie shares her beautiful gift of singing as a lead member of the worship team at First Baptist Frisco and shares this verse “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!” Psalm 104:33.
Edie and Scott reside in Frisco and will celebrate 26 years of marriage in December.
