Easter: The most important celebration

Of course, the most important celebration takes place this weekend as we remember the empty tomb and the hope we have in a risen Savior, Jesus Christ. This season, we are reminded that our hope as Christian families is not rooted in circumstances, but in a living Savior. The empty tomb assures us that Christ has conquered sin and death, and because He lives, we have the promise of eternal life and renewed purpose today. As C. S. Lewis observed, “The Resurrection is the central theme… the ‘good news’ which the Christians brought.” This good news shapes how we raise our children, how we face challenges, and how we look toward the future. Charles Spurgeon captured this hope beautifully when he wrote, “Our Lord has risen indeed, and therefore hope has risen too.” Because Jesus is alive, we can lead our families with confidence, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in our lives and in the hearts of our children—a truth that gives us every reason to celebrate with joy and gratitude as we gather together this Easter weekend.

He is risen . . . He is risen, indeed.
