As the sun sets on another school year, we gather to bid farewell to a cherished member of our Legacy Christian Academy family. With deep gratitude and heartfelt appreciation, we announce the retirement of Mrs. Robin Buffington, a beacon of faith, wisdom, and dedication who has graced our halls for an incredible 23 years.

Rachel Constantinescu, Lower School Principal, aptly describes Mrs. Buffington as “one of the wisest women I have ever known.” She went on to say, “[Mrs. Buffington] sees each person as created in the image of God and treats them as such. She is slow to speak and quick to listen. She has had a profound, godly impact on our Lower School students, staff, and parents.

Throughout her time as our Fourth Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Buffington has exemplified the qualities of a true educator, tirelessly pouring her heart and soul into shaping the minds and hearts of our students. Her journey at LCA has been marked by countless milestones and achievements, each a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence. Reflecting on her remarkable career, Mrs. Buffington shares, “I have loved seeing God’s hand upon the school throughout the life of Legacy and sensing His presence here each day. Growth in the enrollment, development of the campus, and lives that have been impacted for eternity are highlights that will be treasured!”

Among her many accomplishments, Mrs. Buffington takes pride in the enduring relationships she has cultivated with students and families. “Being a long-term member of the Legacy family through the good times and the difficult ones, too, has been a huge blessing,” she reflects. “It’s been a blessing to help even the youngest of our students learn to look to God’s Word for help and guidance each day.”

As she embarks on this new chapter of her life, Mrs. Buffington leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and inspiration. “I hope my legacy will be one that positively impacted the lives of students and their families and pointed them to Jesus,” she shares with humility and grace. Mrs. Tiffany McCollum, Early Learning Campus Principal, shared the following sentiments, “Mrs. Buffington will be remembered as a master teacher whose love for the Lord radiated in her classroom each day, nurturing her students' faith and leaving an indelible mark for years to come. As she transitions into this new phase of life, it is our prayer that she enjoys her well-earned retirement, cherishing time with her family.”

Amidst the fond memories and cherished experiences, Mrs. Buffington acknowledges the unwavering support of her colleagues and the entire Legacy community. “The staff at Legacy is an amazing group of Christian educators that have made a tremendous impact on me individually and my family as a whole,” she acknowledges. “Thank you for your leadership, wisdom, and pouring into and praying for each teacher!”

As she bids adieu to the classroom, Mrs. Buffington eagerly looks forward to embracing retirement with open arms. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to travel, to have more time with my grandchildren, and am excited to see what new opportunities God has planned for me,” she shares with anticipation. In closing, Mrs. Buffington leaves us with a prayer for Legacy Christian Academy, “I pray that Legacy will stay true to its mission, training up strong leaders with Biblical convictions that will make a difference for Christ in the world.

As we bid farewell to Mrs. Buffington, let us honor her legacy by continuing to uphold the values and principles she has instilled in us. May her retirement be filled with joy, laughter, and countless blessings. Congratulations, Mrs. Buffington! You will be dearly missed, but your impact will endure. May God’s grace accompany you on this new journey!
