Legacy community, we are thrilled to add Joey Roach to the Intermediate School teachers, where he will be teaching 7th Grade Bible and History.
Beginning his 31st year of ministry, Joey Roach is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University. Mr. Roach will also be coaching football and boys basketball at the Intermediate School level. We think Coach Roach has a nice ring to it. In fact, so did every school at which he's taught. Coach Roach served as the Senior Athletic Director at Garland Christian Academy, Associate Athletic Director at Prestonwood Christian Academy, and Senior Athletic Director at Grace Academy of North Texas.
Coach Roach is excited about becoming a part of the Legacy family and getting to know and work with our students and their families. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 5 and gave his life to full time Christian ministry at age 20. When we asked Coach his passion, he responded, “Inspiring students to the Great Adventure of Life with Christ.” Joey and his wife, Terri, recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have three children. Danielle, age 26, is a graduate of the University of North Texas and lives in Los Angeles. Their twins, Michael and Micayla, are age 20 and are beginning their junior year of college.
If you want to get on Joey's good side, you can give him anything Charlie Brown. “My collection of books and ‘stuff' is immense,” shares Joey. “30 years of teaching and kids knowing you love Peanuts… well, the collection grows, and I'm grateful.” But Peanuts is more than just a reminder of fond childhood moments gone by for Coach Roach. He explains that, “Charles Schulz's writing and visuals are a reminder to me that the most important things in my life are my family, my friends, the students and families that have woven themselves into my heart and my relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. The relationships in our lives are our greatest achievements. No material things, job titles or vacation selfies can provide the eternal joy gained from Godly relationships… and it all begins with our relationship with Jesus Christ!”
Please help us welcome Coach Roach by extending him a warm greeting when you see him! We can't wait to see you all on campus tomorrow!
