Say hello to the 2021-2022 Legacy Christian Academy Annual Fund Chairs – John and SheriLynn Alcala.

John and SheriLynn have 3 children, Josselyn (`30), Julianna (`31), and JJ who is a future Legacy Eagle at just three years old. The Alcalas joined the Legacy community in 2016 when their daughter Josselyn began Kindergarten. “We believe that the most important thing you can do for your children is put them in an environment to succeed both spiritually and academically,” shares SheriLynn, “I say it all the time, Legacy is good healthy soil that provides an atmosphere for growth.”

Throughout their time at Legacy, SheriLynn has found great joy in being a room mom for several years and in getting to know many of the amazing families at LCA. When she’s not on campus, SheriLynn can be found promoting her health and wellness company and trying to keep up with JJ. She started her business seven years ago and is passionate about empowering women of all ages to dream big and reach their God-given potential.  This past year she published her first book entitled, “You Can Do Hard Things” and has a corresponding devotion coming in January 2022!

John is a VP, Senior Equity Trader at Virtus Shared Services in Dallas. He has been at the firm for 13 years and focuses both on domestic and international equities. He most anticipates and cherishes special moments with his family and friends. John also enjoys coaching Josselyn’s 4th-grade basketball team “The Lady Eagles,” who one day hopes to become the state champion Legacy Lady Eagles.

Head of School Bill McGee said “I am pleased and grateful that John and SheriLynn Alcala have agreed to chair this year's Stronger Together campaign. They are such positive parents who are fully invested in the Legacy community and passionate about our mission. They are committed to helping the school thrive through our Stronger Together Fund as we expand the resources available to the school.”

“We are delighted for the Alcala’s to serve our community as our Stronger Together Fund Chairs,” Shannon Nelson, Chief Advancement Officer added. “Their impact on our community has been meaningful since they arrived. Their servant leadership and love for Christ are examples for all.” The Alcalas are all-in at Legacy. Their love for the school coupled with SheriLynn’s passion for building community and John’s desire to enhance the culture through leadership and service will be a blessing to each and every member of the Legacy community.
