Legacy's Winter Guard wrapped this season up by competing in the North Texas Color Guard Association Regional Class A Championships @ Marcus HS in Flower Mound, TX on March 25. The team performed in the last round just after 10pm. With a score of 78.26, the Winter Guard secured 6th place and earned the highest score for all TAPPS competitors.

This past season has been amazing. I am so proud of all of the girls on the team for all of their hard work, and I am so blessed to be their captain. I will never forget this season because of how we used our show to glorify God. I hope future seasons will be as successful as this one.”
–Sophie Perry, Winter Guard Captain

As one of the only private schools to compete in NCTA, the Lady Eagles consistently finished in the top four, with scores ranging from 61-77. While Legacy is not stranger to Winter Guard success, for many of the girls this winter guard season was the first color guard experience, so each show and performance was a step forward.

Reflecting on this year, Winter Guard Coach, Mrs. Davis, shared,

It was a great season! The girls worked hard and performed well. This was the largest and youngest winter guard LCA has every had, with 15 total students. We were excited to be the only private school to compete in Regional A class through NTCA, and saw this as an opportunity to share our faith with a large public school audience by selecting a Christian song and printing the lyrics on large props that served as the backdrop to our show. I am really looking forward to the coming color guard season and seeing this group of girls continue to develop their equipment skills and performance.”

With the Winter Guard season barely behind them, Coach Davis and team turn their eyes toward Color Guard, whose pre-season begins in April with auditions on April 10. Auditions are open to all Legacy girls enrolled in Grades 8-12 for 2017-2018 school year. Color Guard performs with the marching band throughout the fall marching season. Following tryouts practices kickoff off with summer camp on July 27.
