Dwayne Hamilton has been appointed Dean of the School of Business in conjunction with Legacy’s Professional Schools Program. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Dwayne brings over thirty-seven years of experience in sales and management to Legacy. “Dwayne is an outstanding leader, communicator, and mentor. He will continue to be a blessing to Legacy as he serves our students and families in the Professional Schools Program,” shared Daniel Townsley, Chief Academic Officer.

Dwayne worked for Nestle Food Company in various sales and sales management roles for eleven years before making the move to CROSSMARK, a leading sales and marketing services company in the consumer goods and services industry, where he has been with CROSSMARK for the last twenty-six years and has served in sales, sales management and in senior leadership roles. “The opportunity to serve as Dean of Legacy's School of Business is the fulfillment of a dream that started, almost, ten years ago. I didn't know, at the time, that I would end up at LCA, but for a long time, I've felt God's leading me to use my spiritual gift of teaching more directly,” Dwayne said about his transition. “My journey to Legacy has been a remarkable journey of faith – simply putting ‘one foot in front of the other’ – all the while allowing the Lord to direct my steps.”

Since 2018, Dwayne has served as boys and girls golf head coach, and he is a regular substitute on the north campus. As Dean, his responsibilities include academic counseling, teaching business classes, establishing educational partners in the business industry, mentoring students and networking with university business colleges. Dwayne believes “the Professional Schools Program has the potential to make a tremendous impact on the lives of our students.”

Upper School Principal, Kevin Mosley, shared that Legacy is fortunate to have Dwayne has a part of their team, adding that “Dwayne brings tremendous passion and enthusiasm for sharing with students his deep experience and wisdom from so many years in the business world. His qualifications are strong, but His passion for the Lord is even stronger. Our students will benefit greatly from his wisdom both through direct instruction and academic counsel.”

He and his wife of thirty-seven years, Cindy, have three grown children and four grandchildren. His passions in life are “Keeping the main thing the main thing,” teaching, and, naturally, Crimson Tide sports, being a native Alabamian.
