LCA has made an eternal impact on our family, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve our families, teachers, and staff as we continue to uphold Christ as the ultimate educator.” –Joe Widner

Joe and his family have been members of the Legacy family since 2003. He and his wife, Kate, have three children: Ross, Chloe, and Emily. Ross, a 2015 graduate of LCA, is now a junior Civil Engineering student at Purdue University. Their youngest daughter, Emily is a 6th grader who enjoys drama and participates in productions at Genesis Children's Theater in Plano. She is currently verbally committed to the University of Arizona on a full ride athletic scholarship for the fall of 2019.

Kate volunteers in numerous volunteer capacities in and around the community. At Legacy, she served as PTF fundraising chair for 2 years, Band Booster fundraising chair for 2 years, and was a member of the 10 Year Gala committee. She has also been a room mom and a substitute at LCA. Recently, Kate has served as the president of the Texas Dreams Gymnastics Parent Club, and she coordinates the State Gymnastics Meet for high school athletes each year. She also chaired the Black & White Cabaret for Genesis Children's Theater last fall.
