“I am pleased to announce that Ms. Jena Lamse will launch a new position for Legacy as Director of Guidance Counseling for the Upper School, shared Daniel Townsley, Chief Academic Officer. “Ms. Lamse is exceptionally qualified for this position, given her diverse leadership and experience in education.”
Ms. Lamse is a magna cum laude graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Journalism. She is currently completing her Masters in School Counseling Degree and also working towards obtaining her Licensed Professional Counselor certification at Dallas Baptist University. Ms. Lamse has worked in the education profession for over 13 years. Before joining the staff of Legacy Christian Academy three years ago as a sixth grade English teacher, Ms. Lamse worked for over 10 years with high school students teaching English in grades 10-12, as well as at the college level as a writing instructor at Collin College. She has also held positions as a tutor, writer, and editor with several different ACT/SAT test prep companies, which puts her in a unique position to support our Upper School students in that arena too.
Ms. Lamse is passionate about Legacy and about this opportunity. Her relationship with Legacy started nine years ago when her son, Kyle, began as a freshman. She also has a seventeen-year-old daughter, Avery, who attended Legacy and a twenty-seven-year-old daughter, Amanda, who has made her the proud Mimi to two precious grandsons.
