Mitch State GameWhat did you get as a student at Legacy that you couldn't get somewhere else?  I could write a book on what I got from Legacy but a couple things have stuck out to me! Getting to hear the name of Jesus everyday is not normal in a school setting and growing with the LORD was huge. I honestly believe that the student to faculty relationships that are in that building are God-ordained and are hard to find anywhere else. I know for a fact that that is something I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. The family atmosphere is glowing everywhere in the LS, MS, and HS. That atmosphere is amazing and I knew as a student that I couldn't get that anywhere else.

Mitchell Smith Mission TripWhen you look back on your time at Legacy, what made the biggest impact on you?  Some of the biggest impacts that I had were the covenant relationships with faculty, my peers, and the DR mission trips. Doing life with some of the greatest mentors and people that formulated my community is something I'll forever be grateful for. I walked alongside some of the best guys that are my age that I have ever met and that was a huge impact for the Kingdom. Lastly, the DR trips made my last 2 years of HS and changed the course of my life. That impact that was left on me wasn't just earthly but eternal.

Mitch HomecomingWhere did you see God move while at Legacy?  I saw God move daily at Legacy. Whether that's in Bible study or in a conversation or on a mission trip, He was there. Legacy is ground that was and is established by the LORD. On the Dominican Republic trips, seeing kids in the HS love on those kids from a foreign country and watching us grow in the LORD was simply amazing. Kids were accepting Jesus, breaking down when hearing the Word of the LORD. Seeing the impact that those kids made not only on me, but my classmates was amazing as God was showing us the love that He has for us in that we were showing the kids in the DR. Watching God move in intentional relationships and conversations between people was so amazing to see.

Mitch cheeringWhat did you love most during your time at LCA? I loved almost everything! Whether that was time with faculty, a mission trip, or a football, volleyball, or basketball game. When I think of Legacy I think of God-ordained community. I'll never forget looking behind me at those games and seeing over 200 kids in our student sections coming together to cheer our friends on. If that does not scream community, then I do not know what does.

Mitchell in Fan SectionHow has Legacy prepared you for life beyond your education?  Legacy does a great job on preparing us for life. Being at Baylor now, the rigorous classes that Legacy has to offer students is super beneficial. Academically, the teachers prepared me so well. Spiritually, I was poured into and that has prepared me for future ministry opportunities. Socially, I was beyond prepared for what was next after Legacy because I got to develop that so much while I was there. Legacy prepared me in every way to succeed in life after HS.

Mitch & CrewWhat would you tell a student or family who is considering LCA?  Simple, get here now. Get your child here and get them in fast. It'll change and enhance their lives in so many ways. For a student, you are about to experience the best form of community that you can have in a high school setting. For a family, you will see what community with older believers looks like. Not only will your child feel loved and grow, but as a whole, an entire family will too. WE WANT YOU HERE!
