Each year, band students from Legacy Christian Academy audition for a spot in the ATSSB (All Texas Small School Bands) All-Region and All-State Bands. This year, more than 10,000 high school students from around the state of Texas audition for one of 22 All-Region Bands with 2,398 making the cut. Out of the twelve Legacy students who auditioned for the Region 24/25 All-Region Band, ten made the group with two making second alternates.

  • "The past two years I have done the Jazz Band at Legacy and that has been a most enjoyable experience. Getting to jam with my friends is a lot of fun and the music we learn really gets you moving. But then again, I'm probably prejudiced because I like jazz." Nash Blais ('23) - ATSSB All-State Jazz Band.

Listed below are the twelve Legacy students who auditioned for the ATSSB All-Region bands and their standings.

Of the 10,000 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A high school band students who originally auditioned for All-State honors, which is the highest goal of the audition process, only 306 were selected to participate in this prestigious group. Legacy is one of only 166 schools from across the state represented in the ATSSB All-State Band.

Mr. Murphy, Legacy's director of bands, was ecstatic. “This is the largest number of students we've had advance to area and to All-State in one year here at Legacy. Some schools only get a chance to have one or two students make the All-State band, but we had five students advance and our first-ever All-State Jazz Band student.  Great things are happening within the LCA Band Program and we are proud of their accomplishments.”

We are thrilled to recognize the following LCA students who were selected for one of the 2021 ATSSB ALL-State Bands.

Caleb Chambers received an additional honor as he was the recipient of a $500 scholarship for his making the ATSSB All-State Band (4A) a total of three years.

These upper school band students proved that the LCA band is a cut above the rest.
