I am pleased to announce that Dr. Lana Snear is joining Legacy Christian Academy's Student Services Division as Guidance Counselor for the South Campus. Dr. Snear will assume Angela Paxton's previous role of serving the spiritual, emotional, relational, and academic needs of students and families in Early Ed, Lower School, and Middle School. Dr. Snear is exceptionally qualified for this position, given her impressive education and vast experience as both a professional Counselor and school Psychologist.
Dr. Snear attended Texas A&M University as an undergraduate major in Psychology and completed her education there with a PhD in Psychology. She is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology as well as a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. Dr. Snear has worked in both public and private education as well as with Parent State University in Arizona as a researcher, instructor, and lead speaker at parent workshops for schools and churches. She has developed parent education classes, curriculum, and training materials for counselors and therapists. Furthermore, she has experience in private practice as a Psychologist serving most recently with the Counseling and Consulting Associates of North Texas in McKinney and Snear Psychological Services in Prosper.
Dr. Snear is committed to Christian counseling and her faith and serves in various ministries at First Baptist Church in Prosper where her husband, Stephan, is an elder. She has 4 children, the youngest of whom, Sawyer, joined our 8th grade class in August this year. Asked to share her thoughts about joining our Legacy team, Dr. Snear remarks, “I feel blessed, honored and humbled to be able to serve alongside such Godly individuals and families. My desire is to get to know each of you and to serve you in whatever capacity you need. I will have an open door, open heart and open hands philosophy. Let's impact the Kingdom together!”
