Each fall, Legacy 3rd graders have the opportunity to create pumpkins that populate the annual Library Story Book Pumpkin Patch. Students are asked to bring in a craft pumpkin decorated to look like their favorite storybook character. They are encouraged to do this with their families as a way to celebrate fall's arrival.

We are amazed every year at the creativity and work that they put into this. We love to see what characters they have created.”
–Mrs. Blanscet, Legacy Librarian

Once decorated, the students can bring their pumpkins to the library and “plant” them in the library's Storybook Pumpkin Patch. The entire lower school enjoys seeing the student's creativity on display. Each participant is awarded with a special prize of an off campus lunch trip to Cici's pizza. This festive event encourages 3rd graders to explore a love of creativity and reading.
