With the start of each school year, we continue LCA traditions. The Lower and Intermediate Schools participate in service days annually to make an impact in the lives of others.

Starting with the smallest, yet spunkiest kiddos at Legacy, the Lower School spent their service day with the Frisco Police Department. Chief Stevens and Sergeant Sanchez joined the students for lunch, where they visited and answered questions about all things FPD. After lunch, each class met on Comstock field where they surrounded the officers for a blessing and prayers. Each class provided a card to both Chief Stevens and Sergeant Sanchez, and Mrs. Rhodes gifted each of them with a goody basket full of items for a family night. Our students enjoyed building relationships with two of Frisco's officers.

The Intermediate School split off into three different projects. The 5th graders wrote letters to cancer patients in the hospital. The students worked hard to make the letters sentimental and heartfelt, showing that there is hope in Christ (Romans 5:2-5).

The 6th grade recognized Frisco Police Department and Fire Department by creating a sign on the fence around the football field. They presented the Frisco PD and FD each with a signed photograph during the Homecoming Pep Rally, to show their appreciation.

The 7th and 8th graders headed north to Gracebridge Food Bank in Celina, where they were the hands and feet of Jesus. The students worked hard to pack 409 food boxes that will be distributed and feed over 1600 people. Gracebridge was grateful for the students and their efforts.

Just as Philippians 1:4 states, “Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but the interests of others as well.” Service week instills in our students that part of growing in our individual relationships with Christ means giving ourselves to ministry and serving.

Legacy Christian Academy is Frisco's only PreK-12 Christian school committed to educating students in a college preparatory environment balanced in academics, athletics, and fine arts–all within the context of a biblical worldview. For more information on Legacy, visit our admissions page.
