Legacy Christian Academy is excited to welcome Terra Caswell as the Dean of the School of Medicine in conjunction with the Professional Schools Program. Terra is a graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and brings over 16 years of service and experience in both the education and medicine to LCA.

Terra has devoted her career in allied health to mastering assessment and treatment options vis-à-vis pediatric speech and language development. Her expertise include evaluating and treating language delays in early language learners, second language learners, fluency disorders in children, early childhood speech delays, and childhood apraxia of speech. During her years of practice as a Speech Language Pathologist, Terra worked closely with a myriad of professionals in the medical field to provide exceptional care for her clients.

Terra continued to build upon her impressive resume of treating and assessing clients by branching out into instruction and has even served as a guest-lecturer at Texas Women’s University. She has a true passion for pouring into the future generations of service providers and keeps this calling close to her heart. She has mentored and supervised many young professionals during their clinical fellowship years, as they lay the foundation for their own career in the field of speech language pathology.

Terra and her husband Mark have two sons, Hudson and Jack, who are both in middle school at Legacy. The Caswell’s truly exemplify what it means to have servant hearts as they have faithfully served the Lord alongside one another throughout their fifteen year marriage, serving in student ministry, and planting a church in Indianapolis. Terra has always given willingly and joyously of her time as she led small groups, developed and led children’s and student ministry programming, and developed and led women’s ministry programming. The Lord recently called the Caswell family to Frisco where Mark is the Minister of Serve Teams at First Baptist Church of Frisco.

“ When reflecting on the past 16 years spent in ministry with my husband and family and devoting my career to the field of allied health, it is with incredible enthusiasm, joy, and purpose that I followed the Lord’s leading to serve and equip our future leaders and world-changers in the Professional Schools Program at LCA.”

Terra has always had a deep-seeded passion to serve and has developed a love of teaching and pouring into future generations that now brings her to Legacy.  She is thrilled to merge both her professional and ministry roles to help students discern where the Lord is leading them both professionally and through ministry in the areas of medicine and allied health.
