2019 Valedictorian Robby Gay

Robby Gay ValedictorianRobby Gay, our 2019 Valedictorian, and son of John and Cindy Gay finished his senior year with an impressive weighted GPA of 4.3796. He will head to Texas Christian University in the fall. While he plans to major in Mathematics and Psychology, he is acutely aware that God is in control and he will ultimately follow the path God lays out for him. Robby attended Legacy for fourteen years and always exuded a quiet leadership and genuine gratefulness for all that is LCA.

He was involved in LSO, chaired the Honor Council, and was Vice President of the National Honor Society. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, which recognizes Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Although Robby clearly excelled academically and as a leader, he also ran track and cross country. His favorite memories include going to Camp Eagle with his classmates and going to state cross country meets in addition to working on the bridge project in Mr. P’s class.

Robby’s reserved yet playful personality has made an indelible mark on Legacy. He consistently demonstrated wisdom beyond his years and has a tremendous moral compass and a sincere concern for others. He leads with grace, honor, and dignity. Solidly rooted in his faith, in his commencement speech, he reminded his fellow students not to put limits on what God can do with your life if you give it to Him.

Robby’s spirit was on display in his commencement speech when he quoted the ever-wise Ferris Bueller: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Robby also encouraged his fellow graduates not to let life pass you by, enjoy it and enjoy the people doing it with you.”

Alexandra has attended Legacy since the age of three. She was involved in a myriad of activities including choir, LSO, National Honor Society, Honor Council, and was a member of the special events committee and also on the Legacy Diamonds. Throughout the course of her time at LCA, she has received numerous mathematical awards in addition to receiving the Christian Character award. Her favorite memories at Legacy span all the way back to her years in Pre-K and how the variety of activities helped to drive her competitive spirit. She also fondly remembers Camp Eagle as a time filled with adventures and laughs.

Her advice to future graduates “Don’t place your identity in anything but God. For me, it was easy to place my worth in grades, but I was continually let down. Remember that you are a child of God and that makes you whole.”
