Summer Reading

Grade 1

Summer is the perfect time to relax & read! We encourage you to help your child prepare for first grade at LCA by spending time both reading together and independently. This is only a suggested list. The LCA summer reading goal for students entering first grade is 8 hours (15 minutes of reading, 3 times per week). Remember, each child progresses at his/her own reading rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. If your child is reading independently, choose a variety of books at their interest and ability level.
