What is the difference between a “Family Trip” and a “Student Trip”?
While the focus of Journey is always on student learning, we also believe that families serving and learning together can create a lifelong impact! Please see what trips are available for family participation.
How many people can I bring from my family for a “Family Trip”?
A Family Trip requires at least one participant to be a currently enrolled LCA student who meets the proper age requirements for the trip. A maximum number of 5 family members (including the student) is currently the standard requirement. *see specific trips for variations
What happens if I cannot pay the full amount for my trip?
Each trip requires a non-refundable deposit and deadlines for payments. Each trip will have a “refundable until date” and a drop date. If you are unable to complete the payments for your trip AFTER the deadline, you will not be able to attend, nor will you be able to receive a refund based on flight purchases etc. Please see individual trip details for more information.
Is every Journey Trip tax deductible?
Not every trip qualifies for a tax deduction. *Please see individual trip guidelines
If I pay for my own trip, may I attend with my student?
Only on a Family Trip
Am I able to meet my student on the trip and take them home with me?
No
How will I communicate with my child when they are out of the country?
Most trips will have limited cell phone communication opportunities for various reasons: cell service limitations, helping students avoid distractions, ministry policies. However; parents will have contact information of the trip leader. Blogs may also be posted daily for parents to access through managed missions, and a domestic contact from LCA will also be available for communication as needed.
What happens if my student or family need to leave the trip early due to an unscheduled emergency?
The cost to change travel will be dependent on the family. No refund will be given for participation days missed. The LCA Staff is committed to assisting in making arrangements for families.
