PEP Talks

February 8 PEP Talk Kenneth Chapman registration

Here at Legacy, we have a motto: Imago Dei, which means “made in the image of God.” Yet our kids sometimes walk around with self-esteem issues that make us wonder if they really believe this truth about themselves. And on top of that, some treat others in a way that doesn’t appear to promote an Imago Dei culture at all.

How can we train our children to respectfully recognize and celebrate each other’s differences? Differences in socioeconomic status, learning styles, race, ethnic/cultural background, even individual interests and hobbies…

Equally as important, do you see the unique, one-of-a-kind qualities God has given your child, and remind him/her of them often?

Dr. Kenneth Chapman head shotDon’t miss our next PEP Talk as Dr. Kenneth Chapman, Executive Dean of Liberal Arts and Senior Director of Equity and Inclusion at Dallas Community College, presents “Celebrating God-given Differences and Addressing Bias with your Kids.” He will enlighten us on this increasingly important topic given the current cultural climate in which we find ourselves.

Dr. Chapman has an easy, approachable style that brings a fresh look at this sensitive subject. You’ll be encouraged, challenged and inspired to grow in this area of parenting that we just cannot afford to neglect.

We’re going to package this virtual PEP Talk with a Kid’s Huddle-Up packet to keep your kiddos busy with crafts and fun stuff while you listen. And dinner is easy-peasy with our PTF Restaurant Night at the Dallas Parkway/Lebanon Road Chick-fil-A! Who doesn’t love Chick-fil-A?! For drive-through orders mention LCA Spirit Night, and if ordering through the Chick-fil-A app, please type “Spirit Night” in the comments of your mobile order prior to checking in. God has entrusted you with children for a reason! The biblical purpose of parenting is to do all in our power to impress the hearts of our children with a love for God. The souls of our children are our most important Great Commission calling.   Have you found yourself unintentionally drifting from that calling?  Rob Rienow will help you capture a new vision for your family!

Parent Testimonials

Thank you for doing these PEP Talks to equip us more aptly to raise our children in the fear and love of our God! I will take all the help I can get to raise Jonathan and Andrew as Kingdom men, who are unrestricted in their love of and service to our Father. I praise God for Legacy Christian Academy, our covenant school, who has partnered with us for 13 years now in raising Jonathan and Andrew. Thanks to things like these PEP Talks, I am growing even stronger in being a counter-cultural parent, who has tools to victoriously walk through the myriad of challenges facing our family in this world. Bless you!!!
