My Family

I am a native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. I came to Texas via Baylor University and made Dallas my home after graduation. I taught elementary school in Richardson ISD and Frisco ISD for 12 years. During that time I met my husband Ryan. We are passionate about missions and have both been on several mission trips. We've been married for over 15 years now. Our kids are Noah (11th grade), Josh (9th grade), and Hope (7th grade). Our family loves to visit with cousins in Dallas and in Alabama. We love to go to the beach and to go skiing. We are a sports family and love watching college football in the fall. We especially enjoy watching our kids as they play sports year round. I love learning new things and traveling. One of the highlights of my life was a trip Ryan and I took to Israel in 2019 with our church. It was truly humbling and awe inspiring to see the places Jesus walked and taught while He was on earth. We hope to take our children there one day in the near future. Noah started at Legacy in 2018 in the 6th grade. We developed lifelong friends quickly with that group of parents. Hope started in 3rd grade and Josh in 7th. We have 2 dogs names Rocky and Bear. We feel so fortunate to be at a school that loves God and honors His word.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at LCA?

Legacy is a school that endeavors to walk the talk of the Christian faith. I love the freedom of prayer at this school, and have personally seen my own kids grow in their faith as well as their understanding of God's word. The teachers in elementary, middle, and high school discipline using Christian principles and disciple using kindness and grace daily. Students at Legacy are covered in prayer by their teachers and I love how the teachers pray at the beginning of class. It is evident that the teachers have a personal relationship with the Lord in the way they treat others-staff, parents, and students.

What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?

“I am passionate about kids knowing God's word and how it applies to their life today. I love when a child gets an “”a-ha”” moment-whether in class or one of my own kids at home. I want children to know how to recognize God's voice through reading His word and regular prayer time. This has helped me in my life and I know it will help guide and encourage children as they grow.
What brings me the greatest joy is hearing from God through His word or feeling His Presence in worship. I love to encourage others using Scripture or by praying for them or with them. Jesus gives life and life abundantly!”
