My Family

My husband Larry and I will be celebrating 32 years of marriage in 2023. We have three children who graduated from LCA, Adam (’13) who is married to Channing, Evan (‘15), who is married to Amanda, and Megan (‘16) who is married to Britt Wisener. We have a miniature schnauzer, Chip and a micro golden-doodle, Rocky who keep us busy at home. We enjoy watching movies playing games as a family, serving at our church, and traveling. I have loved being apart of LCA for 21 years. I started at LCA teaching 6th grade Bible, Math, and Science, then moved up to teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2. As the school continued to grow, I stayed at the Middle School level for 16 years. Currently, I teach a variety of Upper School math classes. I love Legacy and consider it my second family.

What do students get at Legacy that they won’t get somewhere else?

Students get teachers who care about them, not only academically, but also spiritually. We want to know them personally and pour into them so that when they leave us and move on to the next level of education; they remember that we cared about them. We want them to come back and share with us how God is working in their lives and how they are now impacting others.

What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?

I am passionate about students learning math and enjoying it. I love to see their eyes light up when they understand a concept. I want to build their foundation and confidence so they can be successful in their future math classes. I want them to leave my class, knowing how to study and apply math skills so that they can reach their full potential in the plans God has for them.
