My Family

My husband and I met at Texas A&M University. We have 3 children, Caleb, Kai, and Keira. My husband Jim is a community pastor at Bent Tree Bible Church. Caleb is a junior at the University of Virginia. Kai is a junior at Centennial High School. He plays baseball and is involved in Young Life. Keira is a freshman at Centennial High and plans to play softball, basketball, and track. We also have a yellow lab named Biscuit and 2 cats named Teddy and Macie.

The sign that hangs in my laundry room and makes me smile on a regular basis is this, “I'm so far behind, I thought I was first.” Keeping up with ALL the things is always a struggle, but teaching and parenting are among my greatest joys!

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at LCA?

What I love most about teaching is watching a child's face light up when they understand a new concept for the first time. I also love seeing those sweet smiling faces at the door each morning. I thoroughly enjoy teaching Bible each day, and I love diving deeper into God's Word as they ask authentic questions. The rich discussions that stem out of our lessons always amazes me and often drives us back to the Bible to explore the details further together. I love sharing with them about my own walk with Christ and telling them about how God's truths impact me daily. They are attentive and inquisitive. This is one of the many reasons I love teaching at LCA.

What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?

I am passionate about learning. Teaching that engages students brings me great joy! I believe God made us to inquire about Him and the world he created. I believe in discovery based learning and love to make learning come to life.

I am also passionate about my family and about being a mom! I believe this to be my primary calling.
