My Family

I am originally from Oklahoma. My wife is a native Texan and is a nurse case manager at Cook Children's in Prosper. I am bi-vocational. I am a licensed loan officer in both OK and TX. I love the mortgage business but teaching is my first love. I have a 22-year-old son whose name is Max. He is a bass guitar player and works with a couple of different bands. He just started writing his own music and has also just started a career in real estate investment. He graduated from LCA in 2019 and started in kinder. My youngest son Rhett also started at LCA in kinder and is now a junior in high school. Rhett loves football and has played on the varsity team since his freshman year. During his sophomore year, he discovered he has some natural ability in track as well. He did really well in the 300-meter hurdles. We have two dogs. Their names were chosen by my wife – Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner.

Why do you choose to work at Legacy?

Students! I love the students. The relationships I get to build with students is what keeps me teaching at LCA. They are a blessing to get to know and I get to stay in touch with many of them after they graduate due to the content I teach.

What hobbies do you have? Or what is a fun fact?

When the boys were younger we started collecting baseball cards. Now that they are grown up they've lost interest, but I still participate in the hobby in various ways. Every now and then I meet a student who shares the same hobby and we have quite a time conversing about some of the cards we have. My family is also a huge fan of Oklahoma football. We love to travel to away games. We've been to some of the bigger stadiums in the country following our favorite team. We've seen them play at Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. We were able to come home from each of those trips with victories!
