My Family

This year I turned 38 and I’ve been married to my husband Matt for 15 years. We have two children, a five-year-old daughter, named Madelyn and a three- year- old son named David. We moved to Texas in 2015 from Indiana for my husband’s job. I’ve been teaching in Frisco ISD the past eight years, but felt God’s calling to come back to Christian education for the past couple of years. I have started my teaching career after college teaching at a small Christian school. What time is it supposed so there were no positions available in Christian schools which I need to apply to the district. After hearing my pastor speak on stepping out on faith one Sunday in February, it lead me to apply to LCA and was offered a position here recently teaching second grade. I trusted Christ as my Savior at the age of 11, and my husband trusted Christ at a young age as well. More than anything we would love for our children to grow up studying the Word of God, and prayerfully that they will trust in Him from a young age as well. We have mini dachshund named Toby who is 15. We adopted him the year we were married. We are very active in our church, Frisco Bible Church, and we are blessed to have many great friends and family through that. I love to jog, cook, play piano, and read. I’ve been reading since I was four years old, and have never stopped loving it. It’s one of my favorite things to teach as well.

Why do you choose to work at Legacy?

It is so important to be able to instill in children a biblical worldview/a biblical perspective. To teach them that God not only is our Creator, but He is a God of order. That all things were made by Him and through Him and for His glory. Not only does LCA promote this, but they follow this. I am blessed to be able to teach in this way at LCA, a school that makes the Word of God the focus.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

Since accepting Christ as my Savior at the age of 11, a verse that I began to claim as my life verse is Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” It is an amazing reminder to me that even in my hardest of circumstances, that through Him and His strength, I can accomplish anything that I have to come up against. That Christ will empower me and strengthen me through the Holy Spirit, and that He is always with me even in difficulties and times of discouragement.
