My Family

I am a Tennesseean turned Texan. I've been in Frisco, Texas for almost 16 years. I am married to Tom Atkins who is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In June of this year, we will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. God blessed us with 2 amazing sons, Brennan who is 23 , recently married to his beautiful wife, Erin and Brady who is 21 and a senior at OU (Boomer!) We have 2 dogs, Scout (6), a yellow lab and Annie (2), a goldendoodle. I've been teaching first grade for 14 years in TX and for the last 7 at LCA. I am very excited to be moving to Kinder this year! I am truly blessed!

Why do you choose to work at Legacy?

There are so many reasons I choose to work at Legacy! I will share two of the top reasons. First is teaching from a Biblical worldview. I love that I get to teach students character through Bible. I love that God is our focus! Second reason are relationships- they are so very important to me. I get to build relationships with the families here and it is the BEST! We have the best families at LCA!

Where do you attend church, and how are you involved?

I am a member of First Baptist Church Frisco. My family and I have attended FBC Frisco for 14 years. Our boys have grown up in the church through the kids' ministry and youth ministry. Tom and I are involved in a life group and we love the close community we share with those in our life group. We have been involved in many ways over the years through teaching Sunday School in children's ministry, teaching VBS, and serving on the greeting team among others. It is truly our church home!
