Mr. and Mrs. Tapp have two daughters here at LCA, Giselle (`25), and Rowan (`29). The Tapp Family has been a part of the LCA family for four years now. Mr. Tapp owns and runs a local business in Dallas called Nationwide Network Technologies and Mrs. Tapp is an executive PTF board member serving as the treasurer. Their daughter Giselle is on the Legacy swim team and excels in the fine arts as a wonderful artist here at Legacy while Rowan plays volleyball for the Frisco Flyers and looks forward to playing for the Lady Eagles in the future.

Why did you choose Legacy?
When we walked in for our tour of Legacy, we knew in about 5 minutes that Legacy was the school for us. My husband and I both grew up in the public school system and really never considered private school, in fact….we were those parents that thought it was silly…I mean, we turned out fine, right? That was until we moved to a district that was significantly lacking in so many things that we valued.

Was there anything specific about Legacy that influenced your decision?
During our tour, Mr. McGee said…and I'm sure I'm not quoting verbatim:  “If you are looking for a disciplinarian solution for your child, this is not the school for you. If you are looking for a school that will partner with you through a covenant relationship, challenge your kids and prepare them for college and beyond, this is the school for you.” And we were like…yes! That is exactly what we are looking for! The mentor programs, Fine Arts offerings, sports, the opportunity for parents to be involved, and just the overall community feeling is what sold us on Legacy.

What advice would you give families who are considering LCA?
The world is so different now vs. when we were growing up or even 5 years ago. It is important now, more than ever for us to have our kids immersed in a Biblical worldview and surrounded by families who share the same values. Legacy is a community for the whole family, not just a place to drop off your kids.

If you could go back in tim
e and give yourself advice about enrolling at LCA, what would you say? Be patient, pray and trust the process. It's a good thing that they are so rigorous in the application process because Legacy cares about the integrity of the school and its student body.

How has LCA helped your children thrive?
The teachers are amazing and so engaging. As a parent, I can tell that they truly love these kids, they see them for who they are and teach to the strengths and talents of the child in a way that is uplifting and encouraging.

How has Legacy lived up to your expectations?
Here's what I know….no school or person for that matter is perfect, BUT, when there is a concern, conflict, or any issue that arises, it is clear that Legacy and the families that it serves are on the same path to find a resolution. We are all working together to raise our kids up to be effective leaders with a Biblical perspective and at the end of the day, that's what every family at this school is looking for.
