Love on a Leash

Legacy’s Love on a Leash program strives to live out God’s call to love unconditionally, and to see the fruit of that love. There is no greater power than love, and there is no greater provider than the love given by a dog. Research has consistently shown the benefits of having a therapy dog: anxiety decreases, academic performance increases, and kindness abounds.

Legacy is proud to have three student wellbeing ambassadors on our team to serve our students schoolwide. The dogs visit each division on campus at least once a week, filling the air with warmth and joy. A student eloquently expressed their feelings about the program, stating, “Having a dog at school just makes things better. It makes it feel like home.” And that sentiment resonates with all of us. The Love on a Leash program has not only touched hearts but also transformed our school into a place of comfort and belonging.

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14 (ESV)
