Why did you choose Legacy? This is my favorite story to tell because it literally is all God who got us to LCA! We had enrolled our kids in a different school, and the summer before starting I just did not feel a peace about it. I researched and looked at a lot of schools, and each time I never felt at peace. We decided to look at Legacy just about 6 weeks before school was supposed to start, and I'll never forget sitting in the parking lot praying that God would give me peace if this was the right place for us to send our kids. I walked in those doors and met Nicole McGlasson, and I instantly had that peace I had prayed for. I called my husband immediately and felt such a weight lifted because God had just provided exactly what I needed.

Was there anything specific about Legacy that influenced your decision? The biggest things that our family was looking for in a school were to know that our kids would be taught an accurate biblical worldview, that they would be known and loved for who they are, and that their teachers would be just as focused on character development as they were academic development. We also were praying for a school that was a community-patterning alongside us to raise up disciples.

How has LCA helped your children thrive?  I would say that that has been the biggest and best decision we have made for our children thus far. I'll never forget my husband coming home from a dad’s event with tears in his eyes because he was just so overwhelmed with the leadership of the school. Along the way, we have felt known, loved, and supported, and it has been a huge blessing for our family.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice about enrolling at LCA, what would you say? LCA has helped our children thrived because they are truly known and loved. I remember the first day for Turner in Pre-K3 and his teacher Robyn Schuller put him in his car seat and told him she loved him and sent him on his way. I knew at that moment that was absolutely true- she genuinely loved him and only knew him for a day! That love has been felt with every teacher and every year we have been at LCA.

My older son started TK as a shy and nervous boy that could get overwhelmed by new situations and new people. His teacher helped patiently allow him to blossom in her class- it gave him so much confidence. We have walked through situations with friendships with our oldest that have been incredible character-building moments for him. We were able to communicate to his teacher what we were teaching him at home and how we wanted to help love him through a hard situation, and she was able to partner with us and help him in that way when she was present in his life and we weren't! I could give several more examples of the ways that our teacher/parent covenant relationship has been not just something that is talked about but is actually lived out. That relationship is truly invaluable.

How has Legacy lived up to your expectations? Legacy has exceeded our expectations at every turn. The mission of the school is carried from the top down and it's left a lasting impact on us already.
