Middle School is a wonderful and challenging time of change, and at LCA, we have a Middle School team who not only loves middle schoolers, but loves the challenge to help them–and you, as parents–bridge the gap between elementary and high school and beyond. Middle School at Legacy includes 5th through 8th grade and these years are truly an instrumental phase of our students' development.

Recently, our Middle School Principal Dr. Joy Bell and Assistant Principal Joey Roach, sat down to discuss an exciting new program, appropriately named The Bridge. You can listen to the podcast here. The Bridge is designed to help our students make the natural, albeit challenging, transition from being young 5th graders through to the time when they leave the Middle, and enter high school. Just as God is continuing to grow and develop these students, our team of educators and staff is dedicated to guiding our students step-by-step throughout the process.

LCA’s Middle School supports The Bridge to your child’s future with five pillars, upon which we build every program in and out of the classroom. It is through these pillars that we partner with you to fulfill God’s call upon your family to teach and train your children in the light of God’s word and truth.

Pillar 1: Knowledge and Wisdom

During the middle school years, our students acquire many different forms of knowledge and wisdom. This includes, but is not limited to, spiritual truths, Godly wisdom, academic knowledge, and a deeper understanding of who they are in Christ.

Pillar 2: Social and Emotional

Legacy recognizes that social and emotional development are paramount to student health and success. We developed several programs like LCA You! and our advisory programs to address our students’ needs. Our goal is to know, guide, and grow the heart of each child.

Middle School can be a lonely and awkward time in a student’s life, but at Legacy we work to ensure that each student feels a sense of belonging and connection. In 2021-2022, we are excited to launch our Crew and Squad programs; both will help us more intentionally connect students, teachers, and staff, allowing rich and deep relationships during their 4 years in Middle School.

Pillar 4: Spiritual and Leadership

In the Middle, students are not only growing physically, but their spiritual growth continues on its lifelong path to Christ-likeness. We guide students on this path during these years and give them opportunities to lead and share with younger students, by word and deed, those areas of wisdom God has instilled in them.

Pillar 5: Sacrifice and Service

Our Salvation is secure in Christ by Grace through faith alone and, because of our love for Him, will be followed by service to HIs Kingdom. We are providing opportunities for our students to experience sacrifice by freely giving of themselves to serve others in need because of Christ’s love living through them.
