My Family

My family is original from the Houston Area. We moved to the Dallas area in 2001. My husband Lynn is the senior Athletic Director for the LCA High School. He is a man on the move all day long. I have taught middle school for 41 years. We have 2 children that are grown and gone. Our son Sky, leaves in North Greenville, South Carolina and is married to the sweetest young lady named Liz. They have been married 4 years. Our daughter Sunni lives in Las Colinas which is just far enough for me not to drop in on her without asking if she is going to be home. When covid hit, I brought my mother home to Frisco and never took her back to Palestine. We do have a small shih tzu named Nike, he may be small but he is high maintenance. Lynn and I both love to travel, going to watch all kind of sports games and spending time with family.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at LCA?

What I love about teaching is that I get to see the kids grow in their knowledge from the minute they step into my classroom to the time I hug them and say we made it to the end of the year. I love to see the light go on, right there in their chair, and for them to say, “Oh I get it”. It is also very satisfying, to hear the students talk about one of the tests and to hear them talk about how they got their answers. I just love Math talk.

What hobbies do you have? Or what is a fun fact?

One of my hobbies is going to all kinds of ball games. My kids are grown, so now I go see the kids I teach play their games. I also like to sew, make wreaths, and tinker with jewelry.
