My Family

I met my husband Bruce at Texas A&M. We have been married for 39 years! We have three grown kids who all graduated from A&M so we are a five Aggie family. Our daughter Lauren is married to our awesome bonus son, Tyler. And we have two sons, Landen and Lane. Our other family members are two black labs Lucy and Birdie. I love teaching at LCA because I enjoy seeing God mold students' lives through a Christ-centered educational experience. Whether it be through crushing cans to learn about atmospheric pressure (I play 70's love music as this is a crush that won't break their heart! haha!), crashing raw eggs to visually see the importance of direction in relative velocity, or building a STEM device that will protect their egg when experiencing free fall from the back of the bleachers, students find that learning science can be a relevant experience.

What's your favorite LCA memory or best teaching moment?

Oh my there are so many but I would have to choose the times that we build the Rube Goldberg Contraptions. One time a group had a book that hit a pulley that dropped down, that poured pancake batter on an electric skillet, and finally poured syrup on the pancake. Another time a group used a series of magnets to form a track that hit some marbles down a tube, that hit some cards, that hit some dominoes, that hit some food into a goldfish bowl. LCA students come up with the most brilliant ideas and I get the pleasure of having a front row seat!

What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?

I am passionate about teaching science in a way that glorifies God and points students to think about their relationship to the Lord. It gives me joy when a student discovers that God is real through the evidence that supports it.
