My Family

I have loved teaching with my husband of 36 years and been lucky to have taught both of my daughters when they were in high school. My daughters are grown now, but I have two cats, an older gentleman named Bristow and and a terror named Bartlett that I was suckered into adopting during covid. I love to travel whether it's to little places like Paris, Texas, or big places like Paris, France.

What's the funniest thing that's happened in your class?

The funniest things that I remember didn't happen in class but are from the times my sweet husband has been roped in to help out with the musicals. During Peter Pan he agreed to operate the cables to make Peter fly and was terrified that he would fly the actor into a wall. When we did “Little Women”, we were short a Knight, so he donned a spamalot costume, said several lines and sang with the chorus and when The Addams Family rolled around, he wore a smelly old carpet with glasses and a hat as the infamous Cousin It. When we got married, I'm not sure he realized all of the ways being with a fine arts teacher would impact him.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

My favorite passage is Psalm 139:1-18
It's incredibly uplifting and humbling to be reminded that God knows us in every way we can be known and in spite of that knowledge, he still values and loves us.
