My Family

I am a proud mama of three young men. I call us the Proud Pewterbaugh's. Sam is currently attending Texas A& M in Galveston, Michael is a rising senior, and Jon is a rising sophomore. I also have two fur babies, Nacho, our Lab, and Paco, our cat. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, playing games, and making them some of the best home cooked Mexican food. Our family moved from California, in the summer of 2015. All of our relatives live in the Los Angeles area, and although I miss them something fierce, the Lord has blessed us with friends that have become family in Texas.

What do students get at Legacy that they won’t get somewhere else?

One of the greatest privileges we have at Legacy is the opportunity to pour the Lord into the lives of each child. The liberty to weave in God's truth into every subject creates an environment that cultivates and nurtures a hunger to draw closer to the Lord. When I taught 2nd grade the year of covid, our students needed to hear stories of hope more than ever before. They needed to be reminded of how BIG our God is and that He is able to do more than we could imagine. Through our bible time, five my students decided to give their hearts to the Lord. What a precious moment I will never forget, to have had the honor to lead five of my students to Christ. Our entire class circled around their classmates and prayed over them. That is Legacy at it's best!!

What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?

Connecting with people is my passion, and it brings me joy to get to know people. I remember when I was a child, a lovely couple at church touched my heart. Not only did they touch my heart and make me feel special, but they had the gift to make anyone they spoke feel special. I remember thinking I want to be just like them when I grow up. I want to listen to others, truly know them and make anyone I speak to feel valued and special. Of course I fall short at times, but I love the opportunity to get to love on others and make a difference in others lives. Love God, Love Others.
