My Family

I am a North Carolina girl raised in Texas. I have been married to my husband David for 26 years. We have 3 wonderful children. Keegan is in his senior year at the University of Oklahoma, Hunter will be a freshman at Ouachita Baptist University and Ellie is an 8th grader at LCA. We have 2 dogs and I would have more if I could! We love to watch sports and play games as a family. I love the outdoors and love to travel. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher and I love teaching first grade.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

My favorite part of our day in first grade is our Bible and Worship time. Listening to a class-full of little students belting out worship songs is the best way to start a day. They truly make a joyful noise! We then move into our Bible lesson. Their thirst for the word is palpable. Students are engaged and full of questions as we study the men and women of the Bible and their experiences. We close this special time with praises and prayer requests. I love to hear them tell of their answered prayers and pray for those that are hurting. It is such a special time and brings us all closer to God as well as each other.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:8
This reminds me to focus on the good and to pursue the positive in our circumstance.
