My Family

I was born in San Antonio, but grew up in Houston. I have been married for 30 years to my husband Don who is also a teacher and a coach, he coaches football and baseball and will be joining me at LCA the 2023-24 school year. We have a 25year old daughter, Avery, she is a Clinical Therapist in Southern California and a Son-in-Law, Jordan, who is a professional beach volleyball player and strength and conditioning coach. We also have a 4 year old lab, Dakota. I have been teaching and coaching for almost 30 years and love what I do!

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at LCA?

I love everything about LCA! I have gone through some intense trials this past year and couldn't have done it without the support system I have at LCA from my coworkers that I consider family, the parents, students and players. I felt covered in prayer and surrounded by love and care. LCA is a family, people take care of each other, pray for each other and demonstrate unconditional love, I am so thankful God brought me to LCA, what a gift!

What is your favorite part of the school day?

I love all of my day! I love being able to work with our subs, they are a BLESSING to LCA! I love greeting students at the door, having conversations, helping them through discouragements, seeing them smile when they learn a new skill and having the opportunity to pour into their lives. I love where I work and who I work with, I love seeing my friends at work everyday.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.”

I have just always love this verse. It just reminds me that Jesus always sustains me and will give me what I need to go through difficulties. I have really leaned into this verse the past 6 months while taking care of my mom while she battled brain cancer.
