My Family

I am married to my amazing husband Mike and we have 2 children, Kayla and Blake. Kayla graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2021 and Blake is a Junior at Grand Canyon University. We have one sweet, little, orange kitty named Lily. We love to travel together and spend time as a family. We attend Rock Creek Church in Prosper, where we love to serve and participate in church events.

I grew up in Oregon and love the beach, mountains, and traveling back to the Pacific NW to visit all of our family. I started my teaching career there in public school and taught for 7 years. We then lived in California for 17 years and I taught at a Christian school the entire time. My family and I moved to Texas is 2021 and we are so blessed to have found an amazing community, church, and many friends! I spent my first school year in Texas, teaching 1st grade at PCA in Plano. I actually spent summer vacations in Dallas when I was a child, visiting my cousins and have so many wonderful memories here!

I also grew up taking many dance lessons and was a captain on my high school dance team and college team, then became a coach and a State dance judge in Oregon. I recently retired from judging after 22 years.
Over my career, I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade, and served as Director of Student Support/Administration.

I LOVE LCA and teaching little ones about Jesus! I feel so blessed that the Lord called me to this amazing school! Go Eagles!

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at LCA?

I love teaching little ones about how much Jesus loves them. Watching their faith grow over the school year, as we read scripture and learn more about God's Word, is one of the biggest blessings about teaching at a Christ-centered school.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

Psalm 100 (the entire chapter)
I love this chapter because it is full of praise and worship to the Lord, the true and living creator! He is worthy of all praise and as His children, we can lay any and all cares at the cross and receive His goodness and faithfulness.
